Do (Sharper Image) Ion Breeze Purifiers blow out air fast or slow?

I recently purchased a Sharper Image Ionic Breeze GP Sl730 from a thrift store. When I took it home I started to use it and it went fine. But the aire or breeze it puts out is really slow. Even if the setting was on Boost & Large room, So I immediately cleaned the blades, etc. and the insides hoping to fix it. But it didn’t the air it blows is still really slow. Is that how it’s supposed to work or not?

& PS what does the ION button do?

Air Purifiers – Help Choosing?

I am looking for an Air Purifier/Filter for my Room. Right now I am in a dorm room, about 15×15 feet not including the sink area and entrance. I wanted to get an air purifier that would give me some fresh air. Right now I have a tabletop Sharper Image Ionic Breeze and I notice a small difference in the air quality. I was looking at a Rabbit Air A2 model that was wall mountable, but it looked very expensive and had expensive filters. Anyone got any ideas?

I want it to have a larger coverage for when I move into a larger place (in another year to a year and a half). Noise is not too big of a deal, but it would be nice not to deal with.

Choice between air purifiers – Blueair or Air Lights?

Hi all – I’m looking to buy an air purifier for my bedroom (just over 150 sq.ft.), to help reduce dust, airborne allergens, etc. My mother smokes a lot, which also doesn’t help. Having been diagnosed with a (very) minor, restrictive lung disease, I’d like to start taking better care of my health – especially in regards to respiration. We do have the general air filter attached to the A/C / heating unit, but I would like something more.

Doing some research, I thought I would just get the Sharper Image Ionic Breeze, but have read many terrible things about it – specifically, the ozone produced is VERY bad for your health. Looking around, I found the Blueair 250E Digital Air Purifier (http://www.achooallergy.com/blueair250eairpurifier.asp#product_reviews) and the Air Lights Plasma Air Purifier (http://reviews.ebay.com/Review-of-the-Air-Lights-Plasma-Air-Purifier_W0QQugidZ10000000002480036).

I’m leaning towards the Blueair, but would like others input and suggestions!

Does anyone know of a good, reliable, effective air purifier?

I have two cats, and I live in the city, so between the dander and the pollution the air around here less that perfect. I noticed a huge difference when the Sharper Image ones were working, but after three defective products I’m weary of giving them another try.

I’ve had three Sharper Image Ionic Breeze purifiers, but all three have broken within a month of use (they started producing so much static that I could hear them from outside).

I also have a UVC Air Purifier and a Himalayan Salt Lamp, but I’m honestly not sure that either one does anything at all.

Any suggestions?

Does anyone recommend air purifiers for their home? I know Hepa filter kind are the best…any thoughts?

I’m considering a Friedrich or Whirlpool…according to Consumer Reports. I already know that Sharper Image-Ionic Breeze and Orick filterless cleaners are all just gimmicks.

Leaving on air purifiers all the time, good or bad idea?
