What is a good air purifier for a cubicle?

My fiance works for a large airplane manufacturing company and is often miserable because of his cube conditions. He is looking for some kind of fan or ionizer that is very small (like desk size), quiet, and preferably runs off of the computer’s power. He isn’t allowed to take in anything the size of a regular fan (like a tower fan) and would need something super small. I saw the Day-Timer Ionic Air Flow Fan with Clock on Amazon.com, but after searching the internet, I couldn’t find any actual reviews of the product. Has anyone used anything that they would recommend?

Does anyone own an air purifier with an activated carbon filter and/or HEPA filter, help me please?

I recently bought the Vocarb 5000 from AllerAir. Everytime I try using it, the room gets extremely hot and the air smells weird. My eyes also begin to itch. Could mine be malfunctioning? Is there any danger? Or, from experience, can anyone tell me if it is normal for such air purifiers to heat a room up, or perhaps introduce an odd odor or something into the air.

As the air purifier is brand new, there should be nothing in the filters. Is it typical of new products, particularly electronics and things like air purifiers, to emit such odors when new? The fact that my eyes itch when around is what has me pensive, and it isn’t just me. When somebody else was in the room, there eyes itched also.

Is there any possibility, at all, that the air purifier is putting out something toxic into the air? Could it be a health hazard?
Could it by that the filter is merely taking all the moisture out of the air, and that’s what’s drying out my eyes?
No, mine does not have an ionizer.

Are ionized air purifiers safe for my birds?

I have noticed that when I put my air purifier on for long periods of use with the ionizer on in the same room where my birds are, my bird starts to act strange. He suddenly has a night fright type reactions and also chirps differently, runs in a circle on the floor like in a panic or something.

He is a 13 year old lovebird and have never seen him react like this before until I got a new air purifier called Sharp plasmacluster ionizer.

My question is, is my bird being affected by this air cleaner somehow?

It says it only fits a (13X13) room .. the room I want to use this for is a school classroom that is atleast 20X20. If i put this purifier in a spot i believe the air is at its worse, will it work for a 13X13 area from that point forward or does this product become completely useless when its in a room any larger then (13X13).

Also, i am trying to find an air purifier in the 0-0 for a larger sized room, so if you have other suggestion please list

Cleanaer™ unique Air Purifier — watch this before buying an air purifier

Suffer from allergies? Hate bad smells? Want an air purifier that isn’t noisy or bulky? Cleanaer works – there’s no doubt. Cleanaer devices remove unwanted particles like dust, pollen, smoke, cat allergens and dust mite allergens from an 80m3 room in under 5 minutes. They work continuously — 24/7 — and are smaller but 1000 times more powerful than a HEPA filter (Watt for Watt) and are as powerful as popular ionisers — but do not create any ozone. The unit’s Liquid-ions circulate on convection currents in the air to treat the whole room, not just a small area. www.cleanaer.com

Air purifier making buzzing noise?

Hi, I just bought a holmes HEPA air purifier (literally just bought), and within a few hour it started to make a strange electrical buzzing noise. I believe that it is coming from the ionizer, since when the ionizer is off it does not make this noise.

Is this normal, or is this a problem with the machine? Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks in advance.
Never mind, I’m getting rid of the thing anyway.
