ionizer Air Purifier, is it dangerous?

We got this Air purifier with optional ionizer, they say its for a single small room on the box, then they say use ionizer in well ventilated room… thats an oximoron, if its well ventilated, it means you need to open doors and windows, in which case its no longer a small room! Is the ionizer part unsafe? it does have a strange smell which I assumed was Ozone, but now im not sure if we should use it at all…

Questions about mold allergy?

If it were a mold allergy because of a presence of mold in the home, can they symptoms come and go, or would it be a constand thing?
Would a mold allergy get worse when it’s wet outside? (For example, after a rain or when the snow melts?)
I have my "allergies" acting up again today, as well as my husband and daughter’s sinuses have been draining all day. It has been pretty cold and we’ve had snow on the ground for about a month, but today the temp outside got up to the 40′s and the snow is melting. coincidence?
Is there such thing as indoor and outdoor mold allergies? (Perhaps because home has a couple of drafty windows…?)

and again, will an air purifier with ionizer and hepa filter work to eliminate symptoms?
Thank you!

Two mini air ionizers in one room?

I already have one of these:

http://www.amazon.com/Ionic-Pro-CABR1-Mini-Purifier/dp/B000B1R9IY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1288890975&sr=1-2

I’m think of getting another one, because the ionizer is too small to handle the whole room. I’m planning to put a second one on another side of the room. Will the two effect each other, because of the voltage that they generate? It’s just cheaper to buy two of these small ones than a large one that costs well over 0.
I’m just trying to freshen up and eliminate dust in the room by using two. One can’t accommodate the whole room, it is too small.

I got a humidifier that evaporates water through ionization. Is the vapor harmful to breathe?

I ask this question primarily because I bought an air purifier once and there was an obvious ozone odor, which I promptly returned the product to the store. The humidifier I bought more recently smells nothing like ozone and whatever odor is produced is very subtle. I just don’t want to be breathing this in now and find out 10 years from now I’m dying of cancer. This humidifier appeals to me to help me with allergies because it doesn’t use up heat to humidify the room. Thanks,
There are no settings. It’s just called an "atomizer" or "ionizer", but it uses an electric current of some sort to evaporate the water (the evaporation is not hot at all).

As for the other answer, I’m not sure what you mean by it removes ions/toxins from the air. This is a water purifier, so the ionizer device is not exposed to the air at all. If you are referencing the air purifier I once purchased, well I only had this for a few days and refered to this simply because it had an ozone odor (where ozone is known to be carcinogenic).

I’d like to know if this evaporated water is carcinogenic! This vapor has a slight odor, not of ozone. Can’t really describe it :-( .

i want to breathe clean air inside. anyone know about air purifiers, circulation, house fans, etc.?

i have allergies to dust and mold and bought an air purifier. i’m not sure if i am supposed to close my windows and doors when i use it. i am also not sure if i should always leave the house fan on to circulate air (or how often to use it). does anybody know how to circulate air and use an air purifier? (another question is how long to run the ionizer on the purifier or if i leave it on will the ozone be bad for me).

Good Air Purifier?

What is the best air purifier for removal of dust and odor? I have been looking at ebay and is almost convinced on buying ecoquest (with hepa, uv, ionizer, and ozone generator). The only thing that still prevents me fom buying this (9) is the ozone generator which can induce asthma. I am an asthmatic. Anyone with a good experience with a VERY GOOD air purifier? I can only afford <0 and does not consume much electricity, with low maintenance. Thanks.

I've just bought a Prim-i-air AP281 Air purifier with ionizer?

Can anyone tell me if this is an ozone free ionizer or if I’m poisoning myself with harmful ozone. I’m going to contact the seller but don’t know if I can trust their info. I’m using this in a really small room and I have asthma and I’m worried as although the air is fresher and my is asthma better the past couple of days I’ve used it I’ve had blood in one nostril and just tonight a bit of a headache. Yuk! Help…
