Are air purifiers proven to increase health & length of life by medical research?
I am certain that good purifiers work at pulling the various particles out of the air, but I am uncertain if this is even needed. I wonder if this will make me live longer, prevent me from a disease, etc. I could see how this would help if you already had breathing problems or a prior medical condition (asthma), but what if I do not? Considering the high price for a good HEPA filter, I want to understand the true benefit for people without pre-existing conditions. Is there any medical research that has been done on this area (i.e. not consumer review, wikipedia or company sales pitch).

Is it wrong to ask my roommate to keep her cat away from me?
my roommate got a cat without asking me. i have a severe cat allergy and allergy-triggered asthma- which the roommate knew about. i’ve gone through 3 inhalers in 2 weeks (had to pay full price for them because insurance wouldn’t cover a refill so soon), i’m coughing constantly, and i take 12 benadryl a day (at least.) my skin is freaking out and i have acne like a 12 year old. i’ve purchased a hepa air purifier and i have to keep it next to me at all times. i can’t sit on the couch because it’s covered in cat hair, and i have to change my clothes several times a day. i can’t touch my face for fear of setting off an itchy attack. i can’t eat at the kitchen table because the cat has made it her bed. oh, and i haven’t worn makeup since i got here because it all gets rubbed off right away anyway. and i HATE being without makeup.
the cat is a "people person" and follows me wherever i go. sweet, yes. helpful, no.
the cat has its own room, where the litter box is, and we have a large finished basement. all i’ve asked is that the cat stay downstairs when i am upstairs, and vice versa, or just stay in one designated area so i can have a "safe zone". but my roommate looked at me like i’m a horrible, evil, animal hater when i asked. the only room the cat hasn’t been in is my bedroom, so i spend a lot of time there, and then i’m accused of being anti-social too. i like cats, but i also like being able to take in oxygen.
moving out is not an option. i have to stick it out for our 12 month lease. am i in the wrong for asking that the cat be kept in a designated area?

IQAir Air Purifier Central
Not all air purifiers are created equal. The IQAir is head and shoulders above the competition with a particle filtration down to 0.003 microns. This is 100 times smaller than what can be achieved by ordinary HEPA technology. Find the HealthPro and HealthPro Plus at www.airpurifiercentralonline.com

My boyfriend says I make him feel second best because I chose to have a kitten over him.?
He was mad at the beginning when I got the kitten because he said he felt left out, and 2nd best because he did not get to be included in picking out the pet but we were broke up at the time. 1 month later he says my kitten makes him very sick, and he has developed bronchitis from his allergies. My daughter and I both have allergies and suffer from asthma, we are o.k. I dust, vacuum daily, and put the cat in another room before he comes in, purchased a 2nd hepa air purifier, use allergen reducer carpet powder, febreze allergen reducer spray, and wash the cat every day. the cat doesn’t shed much or jump on furniture either He told me to get rid of it or he’ll have to stay away because of his health, my daughter and I love the new kitten so I refuse to give it away am I wrong? Today I even offered to buy him Claritin and buy a cage to go outside to put the kitten in when he comes over he said no b/c he didn’t want to put his health at risk and he broke up with me. What should I do?
