What is a good air purifier? Had 3 ionic pros and they all died in a year?
I just want to know whats a better, longer lasting purifier I can get. I really liked it and I have asthma so they make it alot easier to breathe but I just don’ t want one that’ll die in a year, especially since the ionic pros were over a 0 a piece. Please give me suggestions. Thank you

I have an Oreck 2000. It has not quit on me. However, it cost $200.
Since you have asthma, you will want to stay far away from anything that produces ozone. Stay away from ionizers, orecks, ecoquests and the like. You want HEPA filtration with ultra-violet light to kill and capture live viruses, mold and particles. Take a look at the Sun Pure SP-20C at http://www.allergy-relief-air-purifier.com/portable-air-purifiers.html. Initially, this looks like a lot of money, but over the life of the air purifier, you will have saved hundreds of dollars. The replacement filter set which includes the 5 micron prefilter, the hospital grade HEPA filter and two UV lamps is good for two years and at a cost of only $145 with free shipping. Compare this one inch thick HEPA to the foreign knock-offs with a 1/4" thick filter at about the same cost for replacement. The unit comes with a 2-year warranty and a ton of history of customers using their units for well over 10 years. I hope this helps.
