Not all small home purifiers give off ozone, just the cheap ones. Ozone generators are very inexpensive to make, so that is why you see a lot of them on the market. Ozone kills live tissue (your lungs)!! Take a look at the Sun Pure SP-20C at http://www.allergy-relief-air-purifier.com/air_purifiers_for_asthma.html. This is the top of the line air purifier with automatic controls, so you can set it and forget it. It incorporates a hospital grade HEPA filter for high efficiency filtration, an ultra-violet lamp to kill mold and viruses and a photocatalyst to neutralize odors and gases like VOC’s and carbon monoxide. When you are comparing air purifiers be careful to compare the filter section. Many of them only have a 1/4" sheet of filter material. You will change them often and are usually pricey. Take your time with this decision as this will affect your health as long as you own it. Good luck!!
maybe you should hide inside your house after a thunderstorm passes because lightning strikes oxygen to make ozone.
contrary to what people believe… ozone is not that dangerous..but of course you should not whiff the ozone gas directly….. just have ventilation in the house and it’s fine. I use an ozonator to ozonate my water and i drink it within 20 mins bc ozone breaks down into oxygen after that time frame.
other things in your house that give off ozones are printers and tvs
