How important is the air cleaner duct?
I just replaced the headlight on my 1995 Toyota Corolla, and had to take off what the manual called an “air cleaner duct”. I put it back on when I was done, but I’m not sure how well it is sealed with the duct below it. What does the duct do, and how important is it to get a good seal?
Thanks!

On newer cars the duct houses the airflow sensor. if it is not sealed good it causes an air leak which can result in poor performance, gear shifting problems on some auto trannies and burnt valves in the engine
