Worth investing in an air purifier?
I live in an apartment in the middle of the city. My room gets dusty really easily and I have to dust everyday. I don’t have any allergies or asthma problems. My question is, is it worth investing in a good air purifier ( e.g.> 0, HEPA filtration etc, or is it good enough to buy a cheaper air purifier(0) with no HEPA filtration, just for the sake of keeping my room dust-free?
Happens to me too. When you are not at home, close all the windows to prevent wind from carrying all those dust into your home. An air purifier is of little help if dust keeps coming in. Besides, one air purifier is only effective for one room and it will cost too much to equip each room with one.
When you are back home, only open the windows that is not facing the source of the problem. Drawing the curtain or blinds may also help. If the dust problem is recurring rather than a short-term problem, perhaps you should go talk to the relevant authority. No one should be subjected to such air pollution unnecessarily.

The dust in your apartment is coming from somewhere local. Check out what the source may be and try to eliminate the source. An air purifier will circulate air and may only cause more dust or irritation in your case.
