Ionic Pro Air Purifier Health Issues?
Hi, I was hoping that someone could tell me if using one of these things presents any health issues because of the ozone they produce. We have one a few years old and it does a good job with three cats we have in the house, but I overheard that there are potential health risks? I have it in the bedroom where the cats spend a lot of time. Are these things dangerous because we also have cildren? Thanks!

They produce some ozone, unless they have been retrofitted with their little destruct unit. If you or your family have problems with asthma, you should leave it off when you are in the room, perhaps run it on a once-a-day timer of some sort…
At this point, the EPA still can’t determine what level of ozone is acceptable, so my advice is to stay away from ozone as much as possible. It is known to be a lung irritant and can kill live cells. We use and promote the HEPA air cleaners that actually remove particles and allergens from the air. The best air purifier on the market is the Sun Pure SP-20C at http://www.allergy-relief-air-purifier.com/portable-air-purifiers.html All the testing is on this site as well as some videos. This is the same unit used in hospital labs for its efficiency and effectiveness. Here is a video we found with a unit in an invitro lab http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDDX_XWAcRY This is an easy recommendation, since the only machine that comes close is the IQAir GC and you can see them compared here http://www.smoke-eaters-supply.com/iqair-gc.html Good luck!
