What is most efficient air purifier/cleaner for home?
I need an air cleaner in eliminating pet particles, mold, dust mites, smoke, gases, etc.; preferably one that has a filter that can be just wiped off and put back in or filters that are not real expensive. I have heard that Carrier Air Purifers are the best but just not sure. Looking to clean/purify approx. 800 sq. ft. And does an air cleaner eliminate radon or others gases that possibly could be in a basement?

I have had an Ionic Breeze for 3 years now and I couldn’t live without it… really a good unit.
If u are looking for the best than u must pay no regular filter can accomplish this u need an electronic air cleaner for the results u want typically 700-900 dollars and the filter u are talking about is a 4 inch thick mediafilter and the same work required to install this is the same as putting in the electronic cleaner but a little cheaper around half the price and this isn’t a diy job.The only thing an eac can’t reduce is radon gas if u have that problem u need to have it fixed asap
If u cannot afford the Iconic u can buy several cheap air purifiers at some places like Wal-Mart for like 20. dollars that work good–I have two and saved my dog’s life as she is not used to cigareete smoke.
Make sure you get one with a hepa filter. I got mine from Home Depot. It has a filter that can be cleaned. The Hepa filter needs to be replaced yearly (more often if you use it frequently.
They do not remove radon. If you have high levels of radon, you need to have an inspection to find out where it’s getting in. There are detectors on the market now, you can find them at Home Depot.
