what is the best type of Air purifier to buy?
My 2 1/2 year old has asthma. So i need to buy a purifier for the room. Which one is the best kind? And I heard the Ozone kind are suppose to be bad for you, so I want to make sure I don’t buy one of those. Please tell me your experience.
How about Sunbeam air cleaners. Has anyone ever heard of them? My husband has a really old one and says it will work find, but I don’t know. I can’t even find the model online.

To remove all particles in the air, down to a very small size, you need an air filtration system that uses H.E.P.A filters, AKA HEPA as well.
It can get confusing with so many brands and prices that go all over the place.
Oreck makes a good one, pricey, but I’ve seen much more expensive ones.
Careful taking the word of the world renown Consumer reports http://www.webhealthanswers.com/General/General-Health-Zone/Consumer-Reports-Magazine-Knowingly-Recommends-Inferior-Air-Cleaners-And
a good place to start, http://www.epinions.com all the reviews posted there are posted by real consumers, look around there.

A good idea to get a smaller, cheaper one for where the little one sleeps and plays, and a larger on for the main area of the house.
Don’t forget, when you first get your air filters and when your little one is out of the house, it’s a good idea to get those hepa’s running, and get some fans out, disturb the air to get dust and pollen out of the curtains, carpet, bedding, and anything else.
Run them like that for a couple of hours. Remember filters can’t catch anything if it isn’t in the air. repeat a every few months or so.
good luck
Try the oreck air purifier, my girlfriend has asthma n she bought one for her place. She says it had a dramatic effect on her asthma.
Yes, you are definitely right. Ozone type of air purifier won’t help your child, but could only worsen the case so beware of it. To find more different types of air purifier, you can check this out: http://vitzy.net/forum/Air-Purifier-for-Asthma-t2006.html
A friend of mine went through a couple of them before settling on the Oreck. She said, "you get what you pay for". Not only does it work great, but you don’t have to buy expensive filters. Read the comparisons for yourself at
