Air purifier for snake cage?
Okk..My mom says my snake cage smells to much. I change it out about once a week and clean up its leavings when needed. Now I dont know what the smell is. I personally dont smell anything but she says she does. I cant conivnce her otherwise. Now my question is, is this safe for the snake. I plan on attaching it to the cage with some sticky things i can get at wal mart. they have Velcro that will attach to the filter and then attach to the Velcro on the cage. Any concerns i should have. & the snake cage does not fit in my room. its currently in the living room. next to the kitchen

What type snake is it? Sometimes some snakes , like garters, musk, which is a sour smell.
Otherwise there is no reason why your cage should smell. Take out your snake and all the furniture in its cage, remove all the substrate, and wash the entire cage with a 1:4 solution of bleach and water. Then, just use newspaper as a substrate. Clean all the cage furniture with the same solution and place them back in. You can even wash your snake in some luke warm water.
Create a schedule you can remember for when your snake eats and poops. This way you can take out the poop right away. If you follow these guidelines, your tank should not smell.

Assuming you have a medium to low humidity level, you might just need a good tank cleaning as mentioned above.
If humidity is higher, you might have a mold issue.
But all that depends on the substrate you use, newspaper and ugly green mats are (in opinion only good for lazy pet owners) not the best, they smell right away after your snake defecates. I highly recommend compressed coconut shavings, it has a naturally good smell, is allot more comfortable for your snake as it can burrow in it if you have a ground dwelling snake.
And with all due respect to your mother, she might just be bitching because she doesn’t like the snake and wants you to get rid of it without saying so directly.
I have never had a snake terrarium give off any smell, her complaint seems very strange to me.
Try cleaning your cage more often. I am not saying you are not, but cleaning more often might help. Hope this helps! (:
to get rid of the smell and any bacteria, use a solution of 10% bleach and 90% water. scrub the cage with a sponge. then rinse it out with water very well until there is no smell of bleach this should solve your problem. u can also use a solid-top lid to keep the smell in the cage
