Air purifier doing the opposite, emitting ozone?
I have an Ionic Pro, I bought it in 2005 (when i was 19) and have had it running ever since. I had asthma as a kid but think that I grew out of it (haven’t had any problems) but I’m really worried now. I’ve read that this can really damage your lungs and cause other diseases? I never really cleaned the blades (maybe 20 times over 4-5 years) so I’m hoping it doesn’t really or hasn’t really even been working, so I’m not sure. Is my risk really high for developing lung issues now? I feel short of breathe sometimes, but I do have allergies, and I exercise regularly.
Thank you very much.

It’d be better for you to switch to a non ozone producing filter. Yes, it protects us from UV rays while it sits in the upper atmosphere. But at ground level it is an oxidizing poluttant which can be irritating enough to trigger an asthma attack.
God bless.
