How to clean HEPA filter in air purifier???
I just bought a Honeywell Air Purifier off of craigslist.com. It works fine but gives off a subtle smell of the house where I bought it from. It bothers me! The ads online for the air purifier say you don’t replace the filters but merely wash them. How do I do so? Just run them under water?

Run the HEPA filter under warm running water and allow to dry preferably where it can get air from both sides of filter, do not dry in direct sunlight this can damage the filter, it is best in a warm room, can be dried in a dishdrainer if possible this way it gets air from both sides and will dry fast without promoting mold/mildew Good Luck !
When I clean the filters to my vacuum and my heating system, I use clear water with perhaps a little Lysol to help loosen and lift out dirt. But make sure you don’t wring them: That will make them break down faster.
Good luck!
