Does anyone have any experience with the Ionic Breeze Air Purifier..(any brand).?
I’d be happy to hear if they really purify the air being it smoke filled air (cigarettes) or otherwise. What brands can you recommend for good purification of inside air?
Last year a co worker and I did alot of reading in consumers guides and online. I ended up with a fan powered hepa filter. The ionic air cleaners take out somewhat smaller particles, but in sealed room tests they could not outdo the hepa filter style air cleaners at cleaning the whole volume of the room. — You’ll notice they advertise how much stuff you find on the vanes, but not what percentage of contamination they can remove from the air. The Ionic cleaners without fans aren’t much use around dogs that shed, my coworker found. The links below are not the original ones I used when researching, but the info is similar.

I do and the ones that are for large rooms work! I also must say the one for the bathroom does also. The one for the car doesn’t though. It’s worth the money, better than nothing or the regular air purifiers.
We have two of them plus 3 of the little ones. Yeah they really do work and suck some pretty nasty stuff out of the air.
Just keep up on keeping it clean, we wash the grid down 2x a month, otherwise it starts making a crackling noise. You have to let it sit and dry for a little bit too.
We have a gas furnace and it has had its ducts cleaned once a year and new filters every month and still tons of dust. Got the Ionic breeze and there is hardly any dust left at all.
No impact on my electric bill at all either.
Damn I sound like the commercial now! Yeah they are worth the money.

Hepa filters do the best bang for the buck.

I have the Ionic Pro air purifiers. They are a knock off of the Ionic Breeze. Mine are much taller. I don’t smoke but it does make the air fresher. It also catches some dust. You still have to dust no matter what you use. The Ionic Pro is made along the same lines as the Ionic Breeze but costs way way less. I suggests that you purchase several. I have 3 in a 1000 sq foot condo.
The Ionic Breeze is one of the greatest frauds perpetrated on mankind.
The most effective purifier without question is the Fresh Air, by Ecoquest. They use a technology first developed by N.A.S.A. called radiant catalytic ionization, and believe me, it is the bomb!
$750 retail, $100 discount for a trade-in of existing purifier, or buy it wholesale by becoming a dealer for $50.00 and save about $200.00 more.
It actually has been proved to *not* be good for some people, espeically children and seniors. It takes out important factors in the air that your lungs crave. I do not know the specifices, but just keep this in mind. My boyfriend had one that he said worked wonders for a few weeks, then stopped being effective. He has since removed it from his home after reading this article on how it’s not great for you.
Check Consumer Reports. I read an article last year in their magazine that rated air purifiers and the Ionic Breeze sucked. Don’t waste your money on it.
