What is the best inexpensive (less than $100) hepa filter /air purifier on the market?
I would also prefer one that does not need filter replacement.

Stay away from the Ionic Breeze type purifiers. Consumers Reports evaluated these types and determined that it would take days to purify the air in your house (by that time the air in your house would have been replaced on it own – and is not purefied). Go to their site and check it out for yourself. Given that I am not sure you will find another variety that does not require a filter.
I WISH I COULD HELP YOU. I DON’T HAVE ONE AND NOT SURE THEY REALLY PURIFY THE AIR. I USE HUMIDIFIER TO KEEP DUST AND POLLEN DOWN. I VACUUM AND WASH CURTAINS MONTHLY AND BEDDING WEEKLY TO KEEP ANIMAL DANDER DOWN. ONE SITE TO CHECK "CADR" RATING.
