Can anyone recommend a good ionic air purifier?
I would like to spend no more than 0 for a purifier for my room (10 x 12). I have a lot of allergies that just have not gotten better. Looking for an ionic purifier as opposed to HEPA, but if you have information about either please let me know. Thanks.

Go to the shop to choose the type good for your room size and budget.

We have both. (I have bad dust mite allergies)
The best is BlueAir – they are quiet and use HEPA filters, but the ones we have are probably somewhat large for your space, and also expensive. I don’t know if they make smaller ones that are closer to your price range, but look it up. It may be worth the investment for you.
If you want ionic, you can try the Sharper Image one – read up about it first, I remember there was some controversy over whether or not they are really effective. We have one but we don’t know if it really works that great – we have a whole-house filter and haven’t used the Ionic Breeze in a long, long while. It did pick up some dust and required cleaning frequently (black stuff, had to scrub it off), not sure what else it did…
If you have (dust mite) allergies that seem to be focused on nighttime or in your room, first cover your mattress and box spring completely (top and bottom with zippers) with allergy covers – these need to have very, very tight weave and be quality so they don’t rip a hole (which defeats the purpose of having them). My allergist recommends http://www.missionallergy.com, but there are other brands/stores online – just check that the micron size is too small for dust mite droppings to past through. Clean your room for dust mites (wear a mask or have someone else do it). Wash all bedding in extra hot water.
Good luck!
