Do air purifiers reduce carbon monoxide in the air?
I’m living in a new apartment, and I recently checked the carbon monoxide level and it showed 268. This seemed a little too high, and I wondered if air purifiers reduced the amount of carbon monoxide in the air. Does anyone know? Also, if they do, can anyone recommend a good purifier to reduce the carbon monoxide? Thanks.

Fresh clean air coming in is good but the old stuff has to get out, perhaps a small extractor fan?
On purifiers avoid the ozone kind, they can harm the lungs.
NO AIR PURIFIER CLEANS FOR CARBON MONOXIDE…air purify only filter the air for bacteria (or so they claim!) If they made a device for cleaning carbon monoxide do u think we woullda worried about global warming cause by car’s emitting carbon monoxide????..and carbon monoxide causes cancer ..so u may wanna change apartments…
No, they don’t.
If your monitor says that’s a high value, you need to increase the ventilation in the apartment -open windows and such – and call the superintendent promptly to find out where it is coming from. Is someone using, for example, a propane heater indoors and the exhaust is not being properly vented to outside? Maybe seeping into your apartment. Is there a blocked flue someplace? Like for a fireplace that someone is using.
Carbon monoxide usually comes from incomplete combustion of a fuel source such as gas or propane.
If the level is high, you’re in a potentially dangerous situation. Get it looked at and fixed fast or get out of there.
