Like I don’t have asthma or anything, just in general is this worth the buy for my bedroom?

This is a common misconception about air purifiers; if I don’t have allergies, then I don’t need an air purifier. The purpose for an air purifier is to clean your indoor air which is 10 times more polluted than outdoor air (which is really bad for city dwellers). You may want to consider purchasing an air purifier to help keep you from developing breathing problems, since most of the damaging particles in our air is less than 0.3 microns. Not to mention the gases from products and cleaners that accumulate in our indoor air spaces. Some of those gases are carbon monoxide, noxious odors, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and, as a lot of people found out down near the gulf where the spill happened, Benzene which can accumulate to a toxic level. These can all be easily handled by a high quality air purifier. Not to rain on your parade, but the penguin is a cheap import that is worth less than your purchase price.
If you are serious about your indoor air quality, take a look at the Sun Pure SP-20C (which is the same as the Continental Fan CX1000 air purifier) at http://www.allergy-relief-air-purifier.com/portable-air-purifiers.html This is the same unit used in hospitals and labs for its efficiency and effectiveness and will be the last air purifier you will need to purchase, since it has a lifetime warranty. The only air purifier that comes close is the IQ Air GC and that is compared here http://www.allergy-relief-air-purifier.com/best-home-air-purifier.html I hope this helps.
The penguin looks good but it’s smaller than other air purifiers so I wonder how powerful it is. I use these http://www.air-purifier.org
